A Tale of Two Cities

I live between two places in Turkey – the mega city of Istanbul and the ancient village of Nicea, now Iznik.  Although they have the same culture they are totally different in pace and mindset.  I love both places but for totally different reasons.

The big city meshes with my own energy.  I love dashing around exploring its nooks and crannies.  There is always something happening, something exciting to photograph.  Life in the village, on the other hand, is quiet, repetitive, and a bit predictable. 

Although there is always a jarring leap going from one life style to the other, this project showed me that there are also some very strong threads holding the two sides of my life together.
