I have always thought of Istanbul as a gray city, not in a negative sense, but because the major buildings and antiquities are built of gray stone.
In playing with my photographs (as I am wont to do) I unintentionally created a photo of Istanbul screaming with color and voila! this series was born. The base image is a square black and white photo taken with the Hipstamatic app on my phone and then layered in Ps with multiple exposure color photographs.
Who knew the visage of this city could be so vibrant!
